Nobody should be resigned to fate.
But sadly, we all are.
An otherworldy being created this world for their entertainment, and sadly we are all subject to it's whims.
Nothing can come from nothing, so this world had to have been made by something. And the nature of this cruel world means it's certainly not "God" in the conventional sense.
Life is almost like a play.
Life is predictable, bleak. Bad events always compound upon another. Your car breaks down, your wife divorces you, a strained relationship between a close family member. And getting it all back takes impossibly long.
However, there is a way.
We can be free.
If our lives are just a play for some otherworldly being to enjoy, then we must put on the show of a lifetime, make our lives so entertaining of our own volition that it will leave us alone. Get our applaud from above, our rose of gratitude. This is how we break our strings, and become truly independent of this sycophant God.
